Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is the Mexican American journalist. She is an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation at times. Her first assignment with ESPN in 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta was bilingual from the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her land her first position as producer assistant at Univision Miami, where she worked with the producers of shows like Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then it was announced that her CBS affiliate that is located in St. Petersburg employed her as a sports reporter. The journalist was employed with KNVO TV 48 Univision in Rio Grande Valley Texas. Reporting on stories related to immigration and drug trafficking both at the Texas as well as the Mexico borders, she worked as a news reporter for the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. She also filled in for weather and sports anchors. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's Dallas-affiliate station. The station was more duties. She covered The Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS World Series, the Dallas Cowboys and the NBA Postseason as well as the Finals FC Dallas FC Dallas Stars. She also served in that position for the channel's magazine program Primer Impacto and for UniMas Network's Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta's parents hail origins from Veracruz Mexico. At some point they moved from Veracruz Mexico to Mexico City where she was born on November 22 1985. Her sister is also there. In 1992, the family moved out of Mexico to go to the US and settled in Miami. Her parents divorced shortly thereafter and, in 1995, she got married to a naval designer named Fabio Fajardo. Fabio Fajardo passed away in 2006 from kidney cancer. In the summer of 2006, she spent a week with her sister in Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was employed there. As a senior in high school, and having a clear vision of about what she wanted to pursue for her life, Antonietta went to at the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her requirements. It was discovered that she enjoyed the university and that the school offered the degree she was looking for. Her studies were completed and she received a scholarship to the University to pursue a degree in Media studies. Mark Bergmann was her professor as well as the director of WRMU and WRMU, which she is a member. They had a very close connection. Professor Mark Bergmann influenced her by his passion for journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
